Health Care Boot Camp

This event will provide attendees with information and guidance regarding various career and educational pathways in the health care industry. Current industry professionals will speak about their own journeys to becoming registered nurses, doctors, health care administrators, among other professions. Estela Perry, Program Manager for the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, will be presenting information regarding job opportunities in community health centers, as well as scholarship and loan information for those interested in pursuing their education in the health care industry. Other guest speakers include:

  • Alfonso J. Vega, Associate Vice President, AltaMed Medical Group, Clinic Administration
  • Alfredo Reynoso, Clinic Administrator II, AltaMed Medical Group
  • Sonia Valdez, St. Joseph's, Advanced Clinical Coordinator, RN, BSN, PHN, CVRN-BC
  • Paola German, Registered Nurse, UCI Medical Center, Trauma 1 Unit
  • Dr. Jorge Galdamez, MD, Family Medicine, AltaMed Medical Group

    UCLA College Tour

    Hector Lerma, a current UCLA undergraduate and member of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), will lead "The People of Color" tour. The tour was created by MEChA students to expose school and community groups to UCLA's rich history of student activism.
