Meet the Crew

Hope Builders employs graduates of Taller San Jose’s 16 week preapprenticeship construction training program. Housed in a 10,000 square foot warehouse, students acquire essential hands-on skills in the building trades while learning how to adhere to basic employment principles.

Training That Produces Marketable Job Skills

Led by a Licensed General Contractor, Taller San Jose Construction Academy students are trained in:

Safety awareness
Construction theory
Rough carpentry
Framing
Hand and power tools
Leadership development

Industry-related math proficiency
Reading blueprints
Foundations
Electrical wiring
Teamwork
Setting goals

Training That Simulates the Job Site

In order to be accepted into their training program and remain enrolled, students must:

Possess right to work documents
Pass a drug screen

Comply with uniform standards
Be present daily and arrive on time
