CAREER TECH
Taller aims to “bridge the digital divide” among Taller San Jose’s
high-risk youth through computer technology and professional development training. An
Information Technology Academy, Career Tech validates students’ knowledge
through globally-recognized certification in Microsoft Office and A+ Computer
Repair. These programs provide students with a broad base of knowledge in both
desktop skills and core hardware and operating system technologies. Business
skills classes are woven throughout the 16-22 week paid job training programs
that simulate the workforce and demand on-time, drug-free behavior and match
students to employment. Upon program graduation students are even matched to
appropriate employment opportunities. An Honorary
Board of local businesses guides program development. |
